About SE & Associates, Inc.
SE & Assoaciates, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Steve Ellis and Joe Skalecki. Steve and Joe have been providing quality consulting/software services since 1994. Most recently, they have been independent consultants operating their own companies, Ellis Consulting, and Skalecki Consulting Inc.
It is our mission to provide our customers with a complete solution to all their current and future web-based housekeeping management needs. We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to establish a reputation for quality work.
More about Joe Skalecki & Steve Ellis
Joe Skalecki
Joseph Skalecki began his career in the health care industry in 1976 as Laundry Manger at St. Joseph’s Convent in Milwaukee, WI. In 1978 he took the position of Laundry Manager at St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee. He was a member of the first graduating class of the American Laundry & Linen College which he attended at the University of Kentucky. Joseph has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee.
Joe was an active member in the Wisconsin Institutional Laundry Managers Association, the local chapter of the National Association of Institutional Linen Management. He served the organization over the years as Secretary, Vice President and President. In 1980 he was voted Laundry Manager of the Year by the Wisconsin chapter.
In 1990, Joe assumed the duties of Director of Environmental Services at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. During his years at Mercy and St. Mary’s he served on various hospital committees such as Safety Committees and Product Evaluation Committees. His responsibilities included all aspects of department management including budgeting, policies and procedures, interviewing, hiring and training.
Joe achieved staffing reductions in his facilities through the reorganization of workflow as well as technological advances. He has also provided contracted services to other hospitals in order to increase productivity in his in-house operations.
In 1994 Joe began his consulting career. Since that time he has assisted many hospitals across the country in reorganizing their Environmental Service departments to be more efficient and improve the quality of service they provide. Some of the larger facilities Joe has worked with are the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, IA and Health First, Inc. in Melbourne, FL.
In 2001 Joe began doing independent consulting as the sole proprietor of Skalecki Consulting.
Joe lives in Janesville, WI with his wife Deborah. They have four children and eight grandchildren. Joe enjoys working with computers and running.
Steve Ellis
Steve began his career in Environmental Services working at Weirton Medical Center in the housekeeping department while a student at West Liberty State College. After graduating he continued to work at Weirton Medical Center as an Evening Supervisor. During his 17 years of service at WMC he held various management positions, Assistant Laundry Manager, Laundry Manager, eventually becoming Environmental Service Director overseeing all aspects of department operations of Housekeeping and Laundry. He was involved in the Pittsburgh ASHES Chapter.
Steve was actively involved in several committees including Safety, Infection Control, Product Evaluation, Renovation & Construction, and Employee Relations.
In 1994 Steve began his consulting career, holding various positions, moving from Field Consultant to Senior Consultant to Director of Operations. He worked in numerous hospitals across the United States and Canada, assisting in re-engineering, training, staffing, implementing new technology, and setting up software.
In 2001 Steve went into Independent Consulting as Ellis Consulting.
In 2004 Steve and Joe Skalecki formed SE & Associates, Inc while developing the Digital Housekeeper Management Software System, the first complete web-based EVS system on the market.
Steve lives in Murfreesboro, TN with his wife Terri and has two children and two grandchildren.
